TEMPERATURE CORRECTION FACTOR
The Recommended Maximum Working Pressure rating given in Table-I are at a temperature of 20oC. Where Hoses are required to operate at a temperature above 20oC, a correction factor should be applied to the specified working pressure of the selected Hose.
Example
A 50 NB Hose is required for a temerature of 300oC. and working at 17kg/cm2. The specified pressure for 50 NB single braid hose as per Table-I is 28kg/cm2. The correction factor at 300oC is 0.61.
Hence the working pressure permissible is 28 x 0.61=17.08 kg/cm2. This is higher than the required pressure i.e. 17kg/cm2. Hence single braided hose is recommended.
